Making DIYs as Part of the Wedding Prep Journey

July 11, 2018

Usually, people only consider making "Do-It-Yourself" or DIYs when they want to save money.

Little do they know, couples who try to have DIYs do not only save money but help in building stronger relationships.

To be honest, I really just wanted to save money. I asked Ash to design (1) a monogram, (2) "Will you be my _____" for our principal sponsors and entourage and (3) envelope design.

Knowing that our wedding coordinator will only release the wedding mood board at least six (6) months before the wedding, we decided to make designs that are related to our wedding theme to avoid confusing the recipients of our DIY "Will you be's".

I have a lot of ideas so I mentioned them all to Ash (as usual) ,and in the order of things, he listens then just creates something so beautiful from

all my random ideas.

We divided the tasks: Ash will make the designs and I will be in charge of buying the materials, printing, preparing the invitations and distributing them to our friends and godparents.

The design process and the peparation of invitations took roughly around two (2) weeks to complete. We only have time for our DIYs during weekends or after work. In the end, this was a great bonding experience because we were able to create something together and made our friends, ninongs and ninangs smile at the same time!

We enjoyed making these DIYs invites despite being miles apart. Upon seeing our finished product, I can say, we are really REALLY now a team! <3
